A Computer Chronograph
--------------------------
*Formerly called PC Clock*
RECORD OF CHANGES AND MODIFICATIONS
Release 1.00 1 October 1993
Release 1.10 1 February 1994
1. Corrected numerous spelling errors in program and
documentation.
2. Changed mouse cursor.
3. Program is self-seeking. Can be placed in any
directory. StopWatch must reside on the currently logged
disk when it is executed and you cannot change the name
of the executable file.
4. Retores original screen colors when you exit the program
and return to DOS.
5. Added numerous documentation files provided by ASP.
6. Added "Insert" and "Overlay" status to display while
entering or editing data.
Release 1.20 1 April 1994
1. Added routine to check to see if program is running under
Windows or the DOS Task Switcher. If so the program will
display an error message upon startup and return to DOS.
2. Added small window to Lap Timer to display current lap
time and average lap time while Lap Timer is running.
3. Added average lap time to Lap Timer printout.
4. Corrected CPU indentification routine to correctly identify
the 80286 chip. SW16.EXE will now run correctly on an
80286 computer.
Release 1.30 1 May 1994
1. Added counter to Event No. 2 in the Split Timer. Can
now count the number of commercials during each
commercial break. Printed report changed to reflect the
counter. Version 1.3 "SWH" File not compatable with
earlier versions of the "SWH" File.
2. Corrected error in Plus_Minus Days that left the PgUp
and PgDn Command Bars active when you exited the
procedure without completing the calculation.
3. Added routine so the program can retrieve its drive,
path, and name from the end of its environment. You can
now rename the executable file if you wish and it can
be executed from anywhere.
Release 1.30 (cont) 1 May 1994
4. The "PRN" file that you save screen images to on disk
is now compatable with any text editor that can read
ASCII files.
Release 1.40 10 October 1994
1. Changed name of program from PC Clock to StopWatch. The
16 bit version for 80286 and up computers will be the
only shareware version. The 32 bit version for 80386
and up computers will only be available as a registered
version.
2. Improved the program code so the program is now 6K
smaller than before.
3. Support files now are called SW16.PRN, SW16.LAP,
SW16.SWH, and SW16.CAL. If you have an older version
please rename the CLK16.CAL file to SW16.CAL.
4. Upgraded Low Precision Timers to use 128 interrupts per
second instead of 32 for greater precision. Your old
Low Precision calibration data will not work, you must
run the Low Precision Calibration again.
5. Mouse would not have been available for use if a
Critical Error or Extended Error occured while saving
the current screen image with the F6 Key. This has been
corrected.
6. Change format of Lap and Split Timer reports to make
them more readable.
7. Added code to check for some versions of OS/2 and
changed position of code to check for Windows and DOS
Task Switcher so will not crash the program when run
under Windows. Now displays the proper error message.
8. Changed order in which mouse presses and releases are
processed in the program. This prevents problems with
Command Bar shadows when working from a floppy disk.
9. Corrected video detection routines so they now work
correctly with all modes.
Release 1.50 10 March 1995
1. Corrected error in INSTALL.EXE so it can handle a path
entered in small letters when executed in a different
directory.
2. Corrected error in INSTALL.EXE that overwrote 15 bytes
of memory in the video font area.
Release 1.60 15 April 1995
1. Upgraded the Holiday display so it displays the same
initial dates as the registered version.
2. Upgraded some of the documentation.
3. Corrected error in Info Section of Dates. Now displays
the information for new dates correctly.
4. StopWatch now conducts a CRC32 check on itself to gaurd
against virus infection and tampering. /I Command Line
Switch will turn this feature off.
5. Corrected error that caused the recording of incorrect
switch times.
6. StopWatch would not print the screen if the Print Screen
DOS Data Byte was left as 0FFH by DOS or a prior
application. This has been corrected.
7. Enhanced the error handling in the routines that save
data to disk files.
8. Corrected spacing in the Print in Progress Window.
9. Added ± Year to the Holiday screen. Can now look at a
list of Holidays for any year without going back to the
Calendar screen.
Release 1.70 4 July 1995
1. Corrected calculation of negative modulus in Day of the
Week procedure so all Saturdays will be correct when
Zeller's Congruence returns a negative number. The first
date that would have been wrong was 4 March 2000.
2. Corrected calculation of mouse delay variable in SW16.EXE
that could have triggered a "Divide by 0" CPU error (also
triggered when the answer to a division is too large for
the designated register) on very fast 80486 and Pentium
computers. This would have caused the computer to lock up
requiring a reboot.
3. Made changes to the CHIME procedure in the 16 bit version
so it will not produce strange results in some rare cases
when its 16 bit counter is near its limit of 65,535.
